Using the crisis powers of the IT Rules, 2021, the service of data and broadcasting (I&B) on Thursday said it hindered eight YouTube-based news channels, one Facebook record, and two Facebook posts for spreading deception and disdain.
Since December 2021, the service has now given bearings for obstructing 102 YouTube-based news channels and a few other online entertainment accounts.
The impeded YouTube feeds had a total viewership of north of 114 crore and were bought in by more than 85 lakh clients, the service said in a proclamation.
These channels incorporate Loktantra television (12.90 lakh supporters), U&V television (10.20 lakh endorsers), AM Razvi (95,900 endorsers), Gouravshali Pawan Mithilanchal (7 lakh supporters), SeeTop5TH (33.50 lakh endorsers), Sarkari Update (80,900 endorsers), Sab Kuch Dekho (19.40 lakh supporters) and Pakistan-based News ki Dunya.
